Hawaiian Gold Herbal Buds

Hawaiian Gold Buds are one of the most well know legal buds, advertisements are all over online head shops and smoking magazines, I was skeptical ,so I decided to try it for myself. I bought a 1/2 OZ of it from a retailer. When the package came I quickly opened it, there was the Gold buds, big, slimy looking things, kinda smelled like wet hay. I read the label on the bag, of course the company raved about them, but then my eye caught something in the bottom left corner... lactuca verosa, knowing this was the plants species name I looked it up... WILD LETTUCE!??. Wild lettuce grows like a weed near rivers and bays and I just paid money for this? Wild lettuce is a bitter harsh smoke. But whatever here goes nothing

The Experience:

I packed the nasty bud into my bong, got my lighter and lit up the bowl, at first the taste was not that bad but it got increasingly bitter within a couple of seconds, I pulled the slide out and tried to hold in the harsh smoke for as long as I could, exhaling, I started gagging and coughing, yuck this shit is vile, I finished of the one bowl and began to pack another. Again more coughing and gagging, I felt slightly relaxed but may have come from the deep breaths I had take to fight the coughing. I wasn't surprised, this stuff was shit, especially for the amount it cost

Bentons Blue Herbal Buds

Recently I was ordering some herbs from a well known online shop and had some extra money on the gift card so I figured I might as well buy a blend/bud. Benton's Blue Buds struck my eye due to the stoned sun on the front and the producer, Sweet Smoke Herbs. When the package arrived I began tearing at the box to see what the buds looked and smelled like. Once I reached the "buds" I became slightly disappointed because they were not buds but just another blend. No problem... Within the package was a coarse blend of herbs that had a very herb and spice like smell. Before the experience begins let me note the direct intentions of Sweet Smoke Herbs is not to get you high but provide a good tasting blend with a touch of buzz

The Experience:

I made a slight tear in the package and poured the odd smelling blend onto the king size hemp rolling paper. The joint was rolled with general ease, I fired it up and the blend quickly lit and stayed lit. I took the first pull, the blend tasted very clean and had an excellent interesting taste, I continued to toke it out so I could close examine the taste, once again a very fresh clean taste. I began inhaling the next hits to scavenge for effects, the smoke was easily the most smooth smoke I have ever inhaled. It took me at least 20 minutes to smoke the entire canon. In addition my friend D soon came over and we smoked a bowl and another joint. This is where i noticed how extremely thick the smoke was, almost thicker than incense! After we finished smoking the blend I noticed a heavy presence of mental clarity, things that I had lost recently I remembered where I had placed them and faces I could not usually match a name with was easy to do so after this blend was consumed. The clarity lasted for about an hour or so.

Spice Gold

I eagerly ripped off the top of the Spice Gold bag as soon as I received it, I shook the contents to the bottom of the bag and proceeded to open it. As soon as I opened the bag a wave of sweet smelling herbs tingled my nostrils, the contents were very fluffy and loose with a strong presence of bright green and brown.

The Experience:

I whipped out the bong, packed the slide and began ripping it, the first thing that hit me was the taste, Spice tasted like smoking somewhere between stale Cheetos and peanut butter, I continued to exhale the hit which you would guess smelled like a raccoons asshole. I continued to finish off the rest of the bowl and had no major effects, putting the bong away, it suddenly hit me, a feeling disconnection with reality and euphoria came over me. A stupid grin spread across my face, I then walked to my garage where my friends sat, I sat down with them, for no reason I began hysterically laughing in the middle of conversations, these laugh attacks later died down a bit, I told them about Spice, my one friend that we will call D became very interested, he too was intrigued by Spice, so i let him have a whack at it, he too loved it. About an hour passed and me and D were left, since it was night time we decided it would be fun to see how far we could go with this, we both fired up another bowl and went across the street near the water for a meditation session. We placed beach towels down on the cold concrete pier that over look the entire glassy bay. I got into meditation position and I was simply stuck I was just a mind stuck in a big image, I moved my head around yet I was in trance in which I was immobilized, I could not hear, I could not smell, I could only see. After this "trance" had ended I tilted my head up at the stars it seemed as if the stars created a swirling hallway to a door, I was simply amazed by this, the clouds also created faces and images that would follow my mental emotions. D had to leave and by that time the spice "trip" was basically over. This experience lasted about 3 maybe 4 hours.
